Pizza Dough

Once you take the plunge and make your own pizza dough you wont want to ever go back to pre packaged pizza bases


4 teaspoons, (2x7g) packet dry yeast
1 teaspoon sugar
11/2 cups warm water
4 cups plain flour
2 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup (80ml) olive oil



Place yeast, sugar and water in a small bowl. Cover and keep in a warm place for 10 minutes or until frothy.

Sift flour and salt in a bowl and mix. Make a well in the centre of the bowl and pour in yeast, olive oil Mix to a soft dough. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover and stand for 1 hour or until doubled in size

Knead dough on floured surface until smooth

Roll dough out and shape to the pizza pan – top with your favourite toppings

I use a Mexican Salsa as my tomato base because I like a bit of chilli and then I add mozzarella cheese, salami, capsicum and green prawns
